It is really great that I get to earn my living with my art, but it is even greater to see the joy that my work brings to others! This moment captured by one of my collectors, who purchased two custom dog portraits for her sister, is absolutely PRICELESS! That last image actually made me tear up. She clearly loves her dogs and I love what I do!

This is from our road trip to Arizona and back. Nothing like seeing a rainbow in a scenic place like Arches Nation Park in Utah. The colors with the snow caped mountains in the distance, what a sight to see. I chased this rainbow from a few different places, a spectacular view.

Today I am finishing the last layer of my picture. Here I am experiencing the full awareness of my creating. I really enjoy the process of arranging colors and shapes. It is such a soulful experience as I imagine my way through my images. I am never sure what my work will look like until I am done and I guess I really love the mystery of it. Each piece is a gift from God to Me to You. My art is something I explore with the aid of a higher power. When I create from my Head nothing works. I have to create from my heart and soul. Then I feel the fireworks igniting throughout myself and I know that I am on the right track.

On Independence Day weekend Reno hosts the All-American Barbecue Festival and the Firecracker 500 off road race. This set contains informal portraits, candids and performers. The high plains of Northern Nevada are special with lots of sunshine, moderate afternoon high temperatures, cool evenings and low humidity. It was beautiful in the afternoons when the sun slipped behind the Silver Legacy and Eldorado buildings.

Me and my family are the loving caretakers to a white standard poodle named Lucy. She is a rescue, but she was a hard sell because she came to us 10 years ago mostly blind and horribly un-socialized with people and other dogs. She did not understand “petting” or “playing”. She would stiffen up at the touch of your hand and crane her head away. She would growl if any of our other dogs even sniffed her. She has never been aggressive, but it took many years to get her anywhere near normal dog behavior. We thought about giving her back to rescue at one point.
